On Certain N–sheeted Coverings of Curves and Numerical Semigroups Which Cannot Be Realized as Weierstrass Semigroups

چکیده
A curveX is said to be of type (N, γ) if it is anN–sheeted covering of a curve of genus γ with at least one totally ramified point. A numerical semigroup H is said to be of type (N, γ) if it has γ positive multiples of N in [N, 2Nγ] such that its γ element is 2Nγ and (2γ + 1)N ∈ H. If the genus of X is large enough and N is prime, X is of type (N, γ) if and only if there is a point P ∈ X such that the Weierstrass semigroup at P is of type (N, γ) (this generalizes the case of double coverings of curves). Using the proof of this result and the Buchweitz’s semigroup, we can construct numerical semigroups that cannot be realized as Weierstrass semigroups although they might satisfy Buchweitz’s criterion.

Remarks on Numerical Semigroups
We extend results on Weierstrass semigroups at ramified points of double covering of curves to any numerical semigroup whose genus is large enough. As an application we strengthen the properties concerning Weierstrass weights stated in [To]. 0. Introduction Let H be a numerical semigroup, that is, a subsemigroup of (N,+) whose complement is finite. Examples of such semigroups are the Weierstras...
متن کاملNumerical Semigroups and Codes
Anumerical semigroup is a subset ofN containing 0, closed under addition and with finite complement in N. An important example of numerical semigroup is given by the Weierstrass semigroup at one point of a curve. In the theory of algebraic geometry codes, Weierstrass semigroups are crucial for defining bounds on the minimum distance as well as for defining improvements on the dimension of codes...

Let TX be the full transformation semigroups on the set X. For an equivalence E on X, let TE(X) = {α ∈ TX : ∀(x, y) ∈ E ⇔ (xα, yα) ∈ E}It is known that TE(X) is a subsemigroup of TX. In this paper, we discussthe Green's *-relations, certain *-ideal and certain Rees quotient semigroup for TE(X).
